"I recently installed a replacement oil cooler on my B21 block (It was formely an AQ140a but I converted it to a single Solex downdraft).

The old oil cooler had a threaded hole for the oil pressure sending unit. The replacement doesn't.
Just a little right of where the Oil filter sits there are two brass plugs screwed into the block. The larger, one is about 5/8" and the smaller one (below) is about 3/8". Is that smaller hole accessing an oil gallery? Can I install the pressure sending unit there?"

"Dennis, I don't think you need a cooler with a single carb arrangement.

The port for the oil sender is just at the right side of the oil filter (above the filter) between cylinders 1 and 2; this is the place where the oil pressure switch or pressure sender is normally installed."

"E.P.,

It is the smaller of the two plugs right? I recall that we had a discussion about the subject of going from the AQ140 config (2 sidedrafts) to the AQ125 single carb configuration--and not needing the cooler.

However, I'm keeping the oil cooler because I have a plan in the very near future to put a little Weber 32/36 carb on the motor. A machinist friend already made an excellent adapter. So, I figure the oil cooler is insurance if the motor puts out a little higher performance."

"E.P.,

Thanks for the photos. EXCELLENT SERVICE!

Yes, that's the plug I was planning on tapping into.
I just ran outside and shot a few pics of my motor just so you'll know exactly what I'm working with.
