anode lost into engine

Hi all, I've just serviced my old Volvo Penta 2001 and while I was unscrewing the engine anode for corrosion the zinc attachment was left behind inside the engine and I couldn't remove it. So now the old zinc anode is inside the water cooling channels of the engine. Is this likely to cause overheating problems (boat is on the hard now so not able to put load on engine)? Will the anode just be eaten away when the seawater gets to it next season? Any suggestions on what I should do? Thanks to all.

I dont imagine it is going anywhere that will effect water flow Ricardo will know better.

Show us where on the engine this anode was attached!

Its attached to a brass bolt witha square head - shown in this diagram.

If that does not work, leave it! It will continue to sacrifice itself.
