Amphenol connectors

'87 150XP Model#E150STLCUR- While trying to find the cause of an intermittent cutting out at WOT I found several amphensol connectors with frayed wire or pins near seperation from the wire. Can bullet connectors be used to replace amphenol connectors without compromising the ignition system? Thanks}
