Notice that alternators are warm before start-up. I keep the batteries on a charger when not in use. Guessing I have something wired wrong but engine starts and runs fine and Alternators don't get hot when running. I'm stumped....any thoughts?

"If these alternators have more than one wire running to them, one of them is the field energizer wire--and it's supposed to be switched off when the engine is not running.

Suggest looking at the three wires with a volt meter with the engines off. Only one wire--the fattest--should be hot.
