Hi. I just purchased a Volvo Penta 24v 80 Amp alternator as an additional alternator for my D2. THis one is to be specifically used to charge my house bank. Not to be connected to the other alternator on the engine as that one is 12v. I plan to use it to charge Victron Lithium Batteries via Victron Lynx BMS. For that to be possible I need to know if the magnet on the alternator (type Volvo P 3587218) will disengage if the D+ Feed is cut. It the alternator keeps on by its own then i need to find some other solution. I cannot find any wiring diagram or anything that can outline this on the internet so far. See attached diagram on how i plan to setup the system.
