Have a 2001 Sea Ray 180 BR wi
Have a 2001 Sea Ray 180 BR with 3.0 Merc and Alpha 1 outdrive. Grounded the boat hard enough to shut the engine down about a month ago. Replaced the prop and thermostat because the engine was running about 175 and spiking when run hard. During a shake down run this weekend to see how the prop and thermostat worked I hear a roaring and at times squeeling noise in the out drive. Heard it mostly at low speed when I trimmed the outdrive up or down and stopped shortly after I stopped trimming. Also noticed that I still have a rooster tail when running at speed with the new prop. Will a damaged water pump cause this or could it be more serious damage to the outdrive?
