Alpha 1 genII exhaust bellows

Hello Gents
As we were loading up for the holiday weekend I found my exhaust bellows disconnected from the drive. try as we might I could not get the bellows back on. No holes or slits just not connected.

How do I reinstall this or should I replace it with new?
Boat is a 2000 maxum 2300sc with 5.0 I have no idea if they have ever been replaced.
 
If it is a straight tube type then it is not connected to the OD. Look for fine cracks in the rubber of the bellows, dry rot or splits to determine age. Tens years is long enough for all 3 bellows and the water hose.
