"I was at the lake most of August and somehow amidst monsoons and generally lousy weather, we managed to get 25 hours on her. It was a mix of cruising at 2500 to 3500 RPM, as well as lots of tubing, wakeboarding, and other towing, and occasional short bursts up to a little over 4000 RPM.

She ran great the whole time. Didn't burn a drop of oil, just lots of gas. At the end I did the first oil and filter change.

Since this is the first oil change, I brought the oil filter home and cut it open today to look for shiny particles. There are certainly quite a few tiny flecks, but nothing surprising, and nothing bigger than half a pin head or so in size.

There are also lots of small fragments of an off-white or yellowish substance that is a lot like dried paint flakes. Don't know what they are, but not too worried about them.

Ya gotta love EFI; starts great, no smoke during warmup, no bogging, no dirty black oil, no missing or backfiring, just straight ahead running. Love it.

Very happy with the whole engine switch so far. Just thought I would share my findings with you guys.

"Peter;

Yeah, me and the local marina gas pump girl are going steady.
The fact that she is a drop-dead gorgeous blond 21 year old doesn't hurt either!
I think I must be a dirty old man.

Rod:

I wouldn't say you were a DOM; looking at her has caused you to remember the past when gas was $0.17 a gallon and you didn't have a boat. At our age any half decent looking female is "drop-dead gorgeous".

Ya lucky so and so, the bloke that works the bowser closest to me looks like he has been hit with the ugly stick once to often.

I am surprised you didn't seriously work your engine so it used more fuel.

Guy
Average fuel price for std ULP gas in Ozzie land at present is around the $1-27 per litre.

"Peter:

The exchange rate today:
$1.00 US dollar = $0.82 Ozzie dollar. Based on the exchange rate, I am paying only $.69 per liter in Ozzie dollars.

Is your bowser bloke so ugly that he can't sneak up on a glass of water to take a drink?"

You have no idea how cranky that makes me.

Only if the glass is glued down

"Drop dead gorgeous is ok!! My wife tells me I'm like the old dog that chases cars, but still can't drive if he catches one.. I then correct her.. I'm way beyond that, I'm the old dog that simply lies on the porch, 'watching' ALL the cars go by.. but, I'm not as old as $0.17 a gallon!!! Mabe $0.30}"

"You blokes dont know how lucky you have it, about 26 years ago I ran a workshop in what you would call a gas station, our average retail price per litre back then was around 0.30 cents.
Now around 1-27.5 per litre.
Then look at any part with a marine part number on it and add somewhere between 100 to 200 percent on what you guys pay and you have our price.
Very Frustrating.

Sell your business and property, pack your bags and head for Florida, USA. You'll make more money than you can imagine with your abilities. Then you can buy gas at $3.00 a gallon. Don't forget your green card.

Its a good thought, but there are just to many Americans over there, even your President has escaped from there to come over here to Gods country for a visit.
