Hi All.
I have the chance to swop my 81 90V4 for an 87 115. Current owner of 115 has one 90 and one 115 on his ski boat and wants two 90's.
My 90 is on an 18 footer and think the extra 25 would be welcome.
In going over the 115 to evaluate the condition of the motor. I pan to do the following:
1) Check compression
2) Check Spark
3) Start motor on muffs and check. Pee stream, Idle and general running "sounds"
4) Gear oil for water
5) Into and out of gear while running for grinding
6) Confirm motor is charging while running
7) Head heat while running (by hand for 5 or 6 seconds, as I don't have a heat gun)
Can anyone advise on any other checks I should do as I really don't want to exchange a well running motor for a lemon.
Thanks as always.
Keith
