Advice on Controls

Recently purchased a 34' Kings Craft with a Chrysler 318 attached to a Dana 80 sterndrive via an automotive type clutch. There is supposed to be two cables coming from shift lever, one to the sterndrive to shift, one to a hydraulic valve to control the clutch. Previous owner has disconnected the clutch cable and bi-passed the hydraulic valve. (Don't know why?!?) Looks like he replaced the controls with two single lever, single function controls cuz there isn't any place to attach the clutch. I think I have to purchase single lever, dual function controls to make this work. Here is a diagram of how it's supposed to work.

I was thinking of buying a Uflex B74 control. Anyone have any ideas on whether that would work? Thanks!

Probably just used as a crash box as in most outboards.
Clutch system was was too much of a problem.
You will probably find everything seized up now if it has not been used for a long time.

I think that the clutch system on that drive, which is nothing but a repackaged Volvo, is a bit of over engineering. The Volvo cone clutch system is designed to "hot shift", provided idle speed is within limits. In any event, the control you asked about won't work, i.e., wont keep the clutch happy "automagically"... unless you want to use the dual control just for the tranny and have another control for throttle. In this case, the lever on that dual control that normally goes to the throttle, would be used to manually engage/disengage the clutch. If you look long enough, you should be able to find a replacement for the original control head. Re: "seized up".. very likely the hydraulics as speculated by "fitznooney", aren't working anyway.
