I have a 1989 evenrude 70hp outboard that I purchased new in 1990. Doing some long needed maintenance on the motor. Had a fellow put a new water pump kit on it and he replaced all the seals and o-rings in the lower unit ,and new lower unit oil . My problem started when I got it back this weekend. The motor won't go into reverse. It trys but the clutch dogs just won't engage. Can someone tell me the correct procedure to adjust the linkage. I tried to do it on my own but I got it stuck in forward when I would try to start it. How much do you turn the wheels to adjust. I'm thinking I'm turn the adjustments way to much. Thanks for any help.
