Adjusting Engine Mounts - special tools, tricks?

Crusader 350s straight drives with dual mounts (frt and rear). I need to make some alignment adjustments to my engine. I have been looking at these engine mounts but have never adjusted them. These have the two discs on each mount that look like you turn them either by putting a bar into the cross holes or using a special socket type tool. Am I on the right track?

Thanks,

Tim

yes...two tricks to make the process uneventful. 1) lossen the lag bolt before trying to adjust any othem & 2) use a smooth rod thru a PAIR of holes to adjust the height of what you called a 'disc'.

On the older mounts, rust will build up on the threads and inhibit the plastic screw from rotating...some penetrant may help. If it won't budge, it is time to replace the mounts.

I believe crusader makes a spanner wrench for these but don't have a part number handy....I think one of our members from NE found it recently...maybe they will speak up.

Here's my post from a couple of years ago"

"I figured there has to be a better way. Crusader part # 22165 is what's needed. Attaches to a 3/8" drive and has two pins which lock into the top of the mount so you can rotate it up/down. I got mine from Lighthouse Marine for around $50, well worth it."

I don't have enough room to get a rod through two holes so I really didn't have a choice. One hole is guaranteed to break, don't even try.
