I am adding a regulator fr

I am adding a regulator from a 1992 70 HP to my 1986 70HP Johnson. I have all the wires on the regulator sorted except for the Grey wire. Do I leave the Tach wire connected to the Yellow with Grey stripe wire as per original or do I now connect it to the grey wire from the regulator

It is the same wire

It is the same wire just going through the regulator, but for convenience, use the gray lead from the regulator."
