Yah im not sure why. Who should I follow up with to find out if there was something i did wrong?

Here is my post that was removed

Just bought my first boat and it has an 04 Johnson 25hp 4stroke on the back. The motor only has 20hrs on it but hasnt been ran in a few years according to the owner.

I dont know much about boat motors so I have been looking around on what I should inspect/replace prior to trying to fire it up. Boat will only be used in freshwater.

Here is my to do list thus far:

Oil/Filter change
Replace Lower Unit oil
Replace Impeller
Take prop off and inspect for line wrapped up in there
Run 1/2 tank of gas mixed with a couple oz of seafoam till empty.

Anything else i should look into?

For oil I got 4qt of Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 10W30, some quicksilver gear lube for the lower unit, and some general purpose grease for all the fittings. Hows that sound?

Why would you be using your car oil. You have a 4 stroke boat motor that is a Johnson motor, use 4 stroke Johnson oil from your marina or where you buy Johnson parts.
I only use Johnson products in my Johnson motors(9.9--1998)(150--1998)( 25---1975) and also gear lube for lower unit, this way I know I am covered with peace of mind.
When Bombardier bought out OMC they put all their efforts in Evinrude. PLEASE DO NOT USE THAT MOBILE 1 IN YOUR BOAT MOTOR.

I work on these engines regularly. I use Pennzoil 10w-30 motor oil, non-synthetic. The rest of your product choices are fine.
If you want to improve the grease choice, you can get Lubriplate marine grease in a grease gun tube, and Evinrude Triple Guard grease would be what the dealers will recommend. Don't know if it comes in a grease gun tube, but I would expect that is does.
