I think I accidentally connected the hydraulic steering lines backwards?

Like for a Right (starboard ) turn the front of engine points to port correct?

I haven’t touched my vessel in over 5 years so I’m a bit rusty while rebuilding an getting her ship shape.thanks for any advise.sorry that’s 5 years of dirt on the rear door.

If it's a sea star system, just reverse the lines....drain some fluid out...I wud do it ar the helm...and don't touch th a wheel while the lines are disconnected...

yes, boats change direction from the aft end...so a port turn requires the stern to shift towards the starboard...

OK thats what I thought I have it backwards did you see the video
switching the lines at the helm will be diffacult BC it's very tight plus I have a bunch of wiring in that area.
mite be easier to switch at the engine.any tips on prevent fuild from shooting all over the place. thanks Makomark

i watched the video but, honestly, cant tell what I'm looking at.

if the helm is high risk, then switching the connection at the cylinder is another option....just make sure you have enough slack to get both tubes to their new location. if not, the only other idea would be to cut the lines somewhere in the middle and use a pair of compression fittings to swap the lines...

IF you have the hoses connecting to the cylinder, you can probably do the swap at the ends of the hoses AWAY from the cylinder...

steering is resolved switched at ram. dam messy job but she's done. an working smoothly full motion of the new ETEC.
I keep these field fittings onboard

just in case I need to patch that's if I have enough slack to repair. considering carrying extra set of hydrolic tubes onboard also. when I replace current tubes I'll keep the old ones as patch material.thanks Makomark.
