"The service manual on my '75, 115 says that no external acc are to be added to the acc connection at the ignition switch.
I found that the fuel gauge is connected to it. There is a on/off switch on the dash labeled "Fuel" that runs the bilge pmp. It has been wired that way for sometime, I've owned the rig 20 years.
Should this be rewired? Thanks, Mike"

"I wouldn't be concerned about that. The "A" terminal of the ignition switch is designed for anything that would draw a minimum of amperage such as a tachometer, etc. Too much draw would obviously blow the engine's power fuse.

If the bilge pump hasn't blown that fuse by now, I'd leave the wiring as it is.

Large items that have a heavier ampere draw should have their own seperate fused line."

"Joe,

Thanks for the reply.

"Joe,

Thanks for the reply. Just wanted to clarify. The A terminal was connected to fuel gauge sender. It had been spliced into the trim switch red wire from the ignition.
The switch on the dash that was labled "fuel" now runs the bilge pmp. So that is separate from the Command Center circuits.
I bet someone forgot to turn on the fuel gauge switch and ran out of gas. Thus the rewire to the ignition."

"I would'nt leave the bilg

"I would'nt leave the bilge pump,on the acc term on ign switch at all...when that pump locks up,and it will,at nite, away from the ramp ,u r gonna be a paddlin feller...install a seperate switch, for sure, for that bilge pump!!!!!!.
the acc term as joe says,is for tach power, gauges etc..."

"jwb,

Just to clairify. The "A" terminal only powers the fuel sender. The bilge pmp is on a separate ckt that use to be the fuel sender power switch.

Thanks, Mike"
