Hello

I need a lead on finding a marine accelerator pump assembly for a carter afb 4bbl. The old one was brass with a leather plunger. I tried a plastic one from a carb shop, and it doesn't work.

Any help on locating the correct one would be appreciated.

Thank You

IMHO, it's a better choice to switch to an Edelbrock 1409; a direct bolt on replacement for the Carter AFB.

Hello

I purchased the kits from Jerrys' marine in Ft. lauderdale (Edlebrock master kit BRK1477 600CFM) they don't carry the carter kit anymore. Also the Edlebrock kits did not come with the pump. The 1409 is way to much money to justify replacement for an accelerator pump only. My carters run perfect and are in good shape, I cleaned them-up from gum deposits (Sh... fuel) and the pump diaphram tore (my fault)

Anyhow I will search online for correct pump or kit and check with local carb shop and Jerrys' on Monday.

If you guys' can find a site that carries the pump let me know.

Thanks Again

Hello

I found the correct kit this morning @ Jerrys' Marine. Carb Kit # 18-7089 for Chrysler Inboard carbs 3980, 6130, 6212 & M-273-B,LM318-B, M340-B, M360-B,M440-B engine types. This kit included the brass accelerator pump with leather diaphram and all other parts needed to rebuild your Carter 4bbl.

Thanks for letting me kick you guys' around on this one. Fired up engine and it is running perfect.

Hope to get some fishing in before the oil makes it into the Gulf Stream off Ft. Lauderdale.
