"JB when you have a chance could you please take a look at the carb you sent pictures of (off 35 merc) and see if there is a idle tube #19 (on carb diagram) under the plug screw #20?
Just want to make sure I'm not missing something.

Thanks,
Chris"

"JB,

The only thing under the idle adjusting screw is a small bowl with a hole in the center running down. No threads for anything to screw into. I cant get a part number for the idle tube because it is not listed in the available part list.
Is it possible I have a different version carb?
Seems to run OK...I'm confused.

"Don't know what to tell you. Never had that apart. It did have threads at the very top, just under the idle mixture shaft. Since it runs ok don't worry. Does this mean the lower unit came off. If you really want the part and can't find one let me know, I bought that carb for parts."

"Than JB,

Having no threads

"Than JB,

Having no threads to screw the tube into, I guess it is not needed. As for the lower unit...Wont budge. Gonna take the motor off and do the old inverted soak trick...I'll keep you posted on my findings.
Could be a piston in your future...
