My grandmother gave me her bo

My grandmother gave me her boat as she is not using it. It is an old one. The Boat is a traveller and the engine a 35 hp Evinrude Lark. I have spent countless hours on the body and restored it. It looks great and now I want to restore the engine. My problem is this. How would I find out exactly what kind of engine it is so that I may get a manual. Would anyone have any suggestions on where I would look to find serials or sumthin? Or did Evinrude only make one Lark? Any help would be appreciated.

" If you know the year of the motor, SELOC manuals are written for a span of years and models for each manufacturer. For example, they have one for Johnson/Evinrude 2-strokes from 1971-89, 1 1/4-60 HP models. I have found these to be very helpful, and they detail the entire teardown and rebuild procedures with plenty of pictures. I got mine at walmart.com, but marineengine.com has them as well. As for the serial numbers, they should be stamped on a small metal plate, usually on the port side transom bracket, or between the 2 brackets under the front of the motor facing up so that you may have to turn the motor to see it clearly. On evinrudes, since 1980 the last 2 letters of the model number denote the year of manufacture. The letters I-N-T-R-O-D-U-C-E-S correspond to numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0 respectivley. So a number ending in CS would be a 1980. Be aware that although these are supposed to be the last 2 letters, I have seen an extra letter tacked on the end. It was an M, and since it is not in the code you could assume the 2 letters before were the ones to go by. It was right in this case but i dont know if it would be in all cases. If you are unsure, you can give the number to a parts place and they can pull up all the info you would need. "
