Help, suddenly just refused to start or even come close to firing, after a day of sailing. Spark plug wet with gas. Tried several new plugs, same time with same results. I was using the choke as usual. Is there a different staring procedure when engine appears to be flooded?

I have always used the same procedure for starting, choke out, small amount of gas via hand throttle, prime the bulb and almost always start by the second pull.

Motor was just serviced and was running good.
 
Choking richens the mix -- adds gas to the air. If flooded, choking will make the condition worse. To clear a flood, don't choke; Open the throttle all the way and pull the air through by cranking. If flooded because of a stuck-open needle, it may settle back in, (maybe) or it may need to come apart for cleaning.

Pulled the cord nine times and it started. Ran it for about 15 minutes and it seemed ok. Started down the river in the sailboat and the motor started to sputter/skip and stalled. Started it again, still sputtering/skipping, but eventually smoothed out. Ran the motor at 2/3 throttled ( which I have never done)for a couple of miles and now things seem to be good. Further suggestions are welcomed.

May just have been some questionable fuel, etc. If it doesn't happen again, cool. If you seem to get flooding in the future, check for a sticky float/needle.
