I was runing the engine yester

I was runing the engine yesterday when the alarm with an exclaimation sign lit up. If i unplug the sensor cable on one of the thermostats the alarm stops. Thought it was the thermostat problem and remove both thermostat and tried running again but the alarm came back. I change the sensor but it was no use. The alarm came back if I rev past 3000 rpm. Water is running fine from the pee hole. 2T is ok. What could be the problem?????
 
poss the fuel restriction alar

poss the fuel restriction alarm...look on shop.evinrude.com to find the sesor switch.
 
If i remember there is a diode

If i remember there is a diode in the wiring loom just under flywheel area which has caused some probs like the one you describe...check with a dealer
 
Took off the drive shaft today

Took off the drive shaft today and found a crack on the copper hose that connects the water pump to the engine. Fixing the problem now.
