99 Honda BF75 Reverse engagement

My 99 Honda BF75 would not engage reverse gear on a recent trip. When I got home and did the salt water flush with the ear muffs on, it would engage normally. I have the original Honda remote controls. Do I need to adjust the control cables? If so, how is that procedure performed? Thanks

Disregard. I think I have it solved by searching the forum and seeing where Mike has already addressed the issue. I disconnected the clutch cable at the motor end and adjusted to extend the throw a bit so the detent was centered while in neutral. I tested this in the water and it seems to have solved the problem. Thanks Mike.
