Hi. New guy here so I'm assuming this is the spot for maintenance help but let me know if I should post somewhere else.
My '99 Merc 175 EFI has run flawlessly for 17 years. Last trip out, after running for 30 minutes or so at 3200 rpm's it stumbled losing power and running real rough. I pulled off the throttle right away and she idled just fine. Slowly increased throttle and all was good until 2000 rpm. The tach jumped a couple times and she runs rough and will not get above 2k. Idles fine and revs fine out of gear so this is only happening under load.
Here's what I know...
No water in the separator.
Comp is 100 +/- 3.
V-reg wiring connections got hot at some point.
1 yellow wire connection on the upper reg and both red connections on the lower reg got pretty hot.
