"Hi folks. firstly what year is my 9.9 merc
Serial# 9540112-Belgium built..not sure if they're different to yours.

secondly the plastic assembly that works the choke/plunger that attaches to the carby needs replacing,,can the forum sponsor give me a price?

Next can I remove this assembly without removing the motor?

thanks in advance"

"Tony,

You can remove that

"Tony,

You can remove that assembly without removing the powerhead. Remove the two screws that attatch it to the carb, then remove the carb, and the assembly will be clear. I don't believe you can get it out with the carb in place.

Tony"

"Just a follow up. The plastic

"Just a follow up. The plastic assembly was broken at the attachemnt hole to the carbi on one side and cracked on the other, also the priming plunger was very stiff - probably what caused the problem.
Cleared the primer, glued the attachment with some SS washers....starts first pull....... this is after some so called Mercury dealer saying that there was nothing he could do to get rid of the slack in the attachment as it was normal wear!

He charges me $350 for that pearl of wisdom.
Should have come here first.
