99 40 hp mercury oil injection alarm

I have a fisher 1710 with a 40

I have a fisher 1710 with a 40 hp mercury . This is a console boat. When I turn the key switch should there be an alarm for a few seconds then go off. My other boat has one that beeps to let you know the alarm is working.Not fond of oil injection and want to make sure I don't blow a motor.

"I also wanted to find out about parts. The year of mfg is 1999 its a 40 hp 3 cylinder. I see no listing for this. I see it for a 50 and 60 hp. Would parts be the sameas far as fuel pump kit,fuel filters etc."
