"I bought this thing this past

"I bought this thing this past summer and it has always been a bit cold natured when it comes to starting. Once started it runs fine. But once you shut her down, its difficult to start again. Now here is the kicker, I have had to replace the starter bolts twice from them breaking. Also, I had a bad fanbelt which broke, and with the belt missing, the boat started just fine. Any suggestions?"

"If that's a bolt up start

"If that's a bolt up starter without a front brace, that's the answer to problem # 1. THe poor cold starting may simply be poorly set choke, or the usual (dry carb from sitting).

On the good starting with the belt broken, a coincidence--life playing little tricks to confuse you!
