Where is thermostat located on 9.8 mercury outboard

I don't think it has a the

I don't think it has a thermostat. I have the same engine and I had to replace the impeller. I tore the engine apart & saw no thermostat. I'm new to outboard motors so I could be wrong but mine didn't have one & is running great.
