"My model 110 decided to stop

"My model 110 decided to stop running last weekend. 2 weeks ago it ran fine for the first time out for the year. I noticed the water was not flowing very well, so I replaced the impeller and housing. I took it out and pulled for an hour trying to start it. It finally started, ran for 10 seconds and died again. Pulled another hour and called it quits. With a serial# 3612119, what year would that be, and what is the best way to see if it is produceing enough spark with the no gap plugs. I look forward to your replies, I have read some great info on this site."

"Gary, that's a 1973 model

"Gary, that's a 1973 model.

Why are you running gapless plugs?

You should have NGK B9HS-10's gapped at .040 in that model.

New plugs, fresh gas and try again. If it still won't go, probably time to pull and clean the carb..."

These are the plugs that came

These are the plugs that came with. Will pick up a set on the way home and try again. Should you be able to see the spark arcing across with the NGK's if grounded to the motor while pulling?

"Mine has the same sticker on

"Mine has the same sticker on it that Merc info post has, saying equipped with no gap or gapless plugs. Will that be a problem with the NGK's"

"Went home last night thought

"Went home last night thought I would go pull the motor over more time. It fired up again for about 10 seconds and died again, with no more life. I pulled the plugs and tried to see if there was any spark, could not detect any. What would be the next action?"
