help.

Went over today and cheeked all my connections for corrosionand did not find any, hooked the battery up and the little green light comes onbefore I turn the key on? Turn the key on and no beep and no fuel pump coming on.When I cheek with light the black and yellow is hot when I turn the key on.when I turn the key off I hear the fuel pump come on wth?

Pretty weird!

Do I understand that the motor did run for you before you connected gauges etc?

The black/yellow operates the main relay. Since you said you had 12v on the black/yellow to the main relay. Check the yellow/red lead going to the injectors. Connect you test light to ground and remove the connector from one of the injectors and check the voltage on the yellow/red ..... If there is not 12 v, the main relay is either not operating, a fuse is blown (although you said you checked them), or there is a bad connection.

As for the green light coming on before you turn the key switch to on....no theory on that one yet. The green light is operated by a signal from the ECM. If the ECM is not on, then it could be a faulty warning system, wiring issue or ECM.

The fuel pump relay (inside the main relay module) operates for two seconds from a ground from the ECM when the ECM is powered up. The yellow/red lead also goes to the ECM to power it up. I suggest the injector connector, since it is the same lead and easy to get to.

thank you Mike.i did the Continuity test on page 5-49 and dident get any thing on step 1, 3, or 4,but we did get somthing on the 2nd step white/black blue/yellow and that was it. Do u think the mainrelay went bad. It did start before I messed with the fuel and tach.

How refreshing! Someone with a manual....

Make sure that the polarity of your lead connections are correct in those steps. There are diodes in the circuit that require the correct polarity to conduct.

If it fails the test, replace the relay module.

Since it ran before you hooked up the tach, disconnect the wiring harness to the gauges (should just plug in)...in case there is something there feeding back to screw up the main relay.
