"The fastrac power trim and tilt motor on my 97 200 rude carbed motor needs replacement soon. It works good, but the motor housing is very rusty and am afraid it will start leaking soon. I ordered one from the site, so I will have it in a couple of days.
My seloc manual as far as I can see does not give a dedicated procedure for replacement. Will this work:
Raise motor by the t/t motor and lock engine in the up position with the built in mechanism.
Release the pressure with the manual bleed off.
Remove the snap ring and rod on the tilt cylinder.
Push down the tilt cylinder ram.
Disconnect the switch wiring.
Pull out, or roll the t/t assembly at the top to access the four bolts holding the motor.
Top off the fluid.
Reassemble in the reverse order.
Please feel free to share what I do not understand or perceive in doing this job.
Thanks for you time and INSIGHT!!"
