97 mercury jet 30 running issues

Hi I’ll start off with I’m not a boat tech by any means but I am decently mechanical so that being said I have a 97 mercury jet 30 and I’m having a few issues that I’m hoping to pinpoint and take care of. First off I can start the motor when I get to the river and it will start semi hard but not terrible then I can run WOT for approx 25 mins and it will bog down and die. After it dies it won’t restart it will act like it wants to but it will never fully start and idle until hours later when it is cool. Any help on this is appreciated. I also just noticed while digging around trying to get my tell tale to spit water if I have the motor off and I prime the bulb to fill the fuel filter I can visibly watch it empty in approx 15 seconds. I am not 100% but should that not stay primed even with the motor off? Also where could it be going I followed the line back to a T but am not sure where the 3rd leg goes any help is greatly appreciated
