" I own a 96 Mariner 200efi outboard. I having problems with the lights and buzzers going off. The warining lights that are going off is the low or no oil and the other is overheating light. I have replace the low oil sender and the oil pickup sender. I have also clean the grounds on the engine. My engine is not reaching the suggested rpms it only revs to thousand.I check all my oil lines and I don't see any damage or air bubbles in them.I don't know why my overheating light comes on when I first start the engine. If I was to put a temp gun on the head , what should it be at.

" i have the same problem on my 175 yamaha, heres what to try..tilt your motor up, and let the oil reserve on the motor drain for a few days, then come back and put the motor in the water and wait a few minutes before starting, that should stop the lights from going off because that tank on the motor has had time to fill up..the other thing i did was take the oil line going to the engine, and put a check valve in it, so the oil doesnt leak back down into the main tank.. i dont know if this will work for you, but its worth a try.. good luck and let us know.
