95 mariner

I have about a 95 40 mariner with a intermadiate problem. i can be going threw the water and it will cut off and just hit a little while trying to start, then it will start and run fine for a little while longer and do the same thing. i have already cleaned carbs and rr'ed fuel filter. im thinking it maybe cole but im not sure, it has a single coil with 2 wires. i would realy like to go fishing without breaking down , thanks for any help.

Define how you "cleaned the carbs".

Do you mean, motor stops when hitting wave, or just stops....Next time it stops, look at your tach if you have one, if you get reading off your tach you spark.
Move on to furl, make sure your vent cap is open.Is the primer bulb going fat, when this happens...
