95 Mariner stator/regulator issues

Mariner 60 tiller 0g212851 completed ohms test finding trigger and coils are within service manual spec however stator test showing .35 ohms between yellow leads to regulator (bullet connectors have some heat discoloring) ohms test between red and blue low speed coils have no continuity, red to ground ohms within spec at 105. Engine died after high speed run during idle back to dock only able to restart with throttle advanced over halfway during cranking then idles poorly. My question, stator is the issue, should I use a cdi replacement and do the regulator at the same time. Regulator OEM or cdi? Thank you for any insight
