I am having some power loss trouble with my '95 88 hp Johnson i have replaced the fuel pump and fuel line from tank to engine but just can't seem to hit full power. i have recently taken in and they have told me cylinder compressions are 115-120. timing is good and all other electrical is fine. They just can't pinpoint the problem. The tech said it just seems that the engine is just telling us that "it's time" and don't want to just start throwing parts at it to fix it as it could be internal. i would like to give a few things a try myself before I concede on this, but am also pondering the idea of trying another shop for another view. Any help or insight is greatly appreciated

Did they check for a sheared flywheel key ?----Strong spark on all leads ?----Water in the fuel ?----Perhaps do your own compression test.

They did not say if they checked for sheared key. They said spark was good before and after new plugs and the fuel sample was good.
