For 7 years, my whaler sat under a tarp in the woods.before I retired it, I had the marina winterize it and run the gas dry. This spring I unveiled it and upon opening the engine cover found the biggest mice nest of all. The marina cleaned and power washed and repaired the damaged wires then went over the engine to see if it was worthy to fix. Well, it wants to start but doesn't stay running and the alarm on the throttle stays on while the key is on. The sticker says " fuel blockage". What's my next move? I did see that the marina didn't notice the ground wire on the primer solenoid was broken so I switched the manual lever.
im trying to sell this Boat so any help that works will be appreciated!

Was it stored with any ethanol in it? Expect fuel pump and carb issues, Wizzer. I did a mouse nest in a Mint Mercury last year, repaired wires carefully and without ever trying to turn it over until everything was precise. Started and ran beautifully. Sold it with a 1 year warranty to a guy from 100 miles up the North Shore. Soon got a text and he said it ran great and he got a bunch of walleyes with his son. Two weeks later got another text, wouldn't start at the dock. He brought it back and I fixed it for him.....no spark, all components were fried, cost me $500 in parts alone. Lesson learned, be careful with mouse damage. Acids and other contaminants can injure components and it might not show up immediately.
