So I bought this boat from my uncle who acted like it was fine. Looks great trusted my uncle. Got all my money spent for the season to find out that she's got some good issues. First time trying to run it. He says run the throttle once or twice to prime. Good ol Chevy motor. Note I'm a SM at AutoZone with decent knowledge... I looked at oil first. Seemed okay looking. Definitely seemed a little over full but nothing obviously milky or showing good signs of contaminate. Checked fuel filter it seemed nice and gassy no signs of abnormality in it either. Drive oil looked full and dark but full, at quick glance only weird thing is seemingly over full on oil. I crank a few times and find no compression and immediately leaking water from block. Find the freeze plug sitting next to hole, it's the plug behind the motor mounts. I got it put in very crappy and un even but it is plugged in there, just terribly but enough that I would say she would get off her feet for further diagnosis... Run it a bit and find not enough pep, check one spark plug unscrewed it by hand, smh,. Seemed old and fouled replaced all the spark plugs. Still not enough umph. Held a plug in hand didn't zap, cleaned contactor on distributer and got some zappy, possibly not enough but enough to light me up lol, reinstall plugs and start to fire away again. This time getting almost off her feet I mean really basically running while holding the key over, let off key she dies out. Tweaked throttle screw some and tried to twist what seemingly is the two carb float screws as well, and while tweaking the throttle to have some at idle and tweaking the other two spring screws I got it like right where I would say is proper sounding and it felt like all I needed to do was give her some throttle and get her off the ground. But throttle kills the starter action and she dies down and I couldn't use screw drivers or anything to force some throttle hits. And just when I felt like I almost had her figured out she starts upchucking some good water mixed with white slime seemingly oil and water and maybe coolant. Upchucked while I had the spark resistor off and carb exposed and just puked all over the top of the motor. I also did use some start fluid into the top of it and tried to squeeze a little gas from a bottle into it when we were diving into it and that was giving it the pep to almost get going but still never fully taking off and now after the baby puke I wanna say I've got bad head gasket or seals or cracked block etc fml. I'm taking home a compression tester today and doing that but boat guys help a brotha out I'm a sitting duck.
