"My 25 Mariner, Pull start, is a bunch of great technology.
When it's warm it starts as the second cylinder is going over. Amazingly easy for an old guy like me.
But at the Ramp, this is an Obnoxious Bugger indeed.
I've lost my book.
What I'm wondering is about a Cold start proceedure?
Is there one for this motor?
Long ago I learned to run the gas out of the carb when I'm done with it. The Rubber tip on the needle valve will stick in the seat if I dont let all the gas out of the Bowl.
It has a small primer pump that's worked with the choke push/pull knob.
I squeeze the bulb till gas runs out of the carb.
Pump the primer twice or maybe three times.
Pull the choke out.
And then start yanking on that Obnoxious SOB.
I pull and pull and sometimes have to stop and rest. I take the Hood off and try to hold the throttle open as I pull. Nothing seems to make a difference.
Who's got some help."
