"New poster here that needs help! My 94 Johnson 115 has a new water pump, new impeller and new thermostat with no sensor wires near the plug wires. Will start and run fine but rest assured at some point while boating, I get a constant (overheat?) warning horn. It will last awhile and then goes off. There is no set rpm or time when it will go off and when it does not. Yesterday we continued boating with the horn on with no obvious problem. Eventually the horn went off and the never came back on. I am looking for ideas that can help me solve this problem I have had for way to long!"

"i would make certain,that it is --in fact--NOT ,overheating...we use temp guns,...great lil gadget....then,start disc senders,till u find the culprit....most likely,..the oil tank low oil sender,...follow wires and disc at eng...still does it,..move on to temp senders,in cyl hds,..VERIFY,..no overheat...it may be,telling the truth!...still does it,no overheat,verified,..move on to no oil sender,about 10" fr vro ,or so,unplug and try...u must keep ur oiling sustem,up to snuff,..it needs attn,..verification,oil tank cleaned,and consumption tests done,every 2 yrs....or,...hang a new one on for 15,000...."

One more thing jw - I have nev

One more thing jw - I have never heard of keeping the oiling system up to snuff. I mean I keep it topped off always but have never done any maintenance to it. What is verification and a consumption test? I understand removing the oil tank and clean.
