I'm have a issue with ignition. I turned on key noticed a constant beeping (never had a boat before unsure if it's normal it's a 93 astro s-18fs). I then unhooked the black with yellow tracer on switchbox no spark still. I then unhooked the yellow wires from stator to rectifier and noticed a weak spark. My question is would a bad rectifier cause no spark? I'm on a very limited budget trying to keep from making a unnecessary purchases.

Didn't those have the slow & high speed stator windings? Maybe it's newer, IDK.
Remove all the plugs so it cranks faster & check for spark again.

Take starter apart for inspection and ohm test on armature.----That procedure is within your budget.----You may not be aware of the fact that if flywheel spins slow there is no spark.

I was checking the resistance on the stator the red&red/white was 155.5 when I checked across the blue&blue/white I had OL no I'm not very experienced with a multimeter does this verify i have a bad stator?
