93 99 merc kicker motor

"Recently pulled carb,cleaned,

"Recently pulled carb,cleaned,installed, and adjusted. Motor runs good but smokes more than usual and leaves oil slick after running in barrel. All started with motor coughing, would run great cough then run great again. The above mentioned is what I have been dealing with after cleaning. Compression is 90 on both cylinders,(is this ok?) Any suggestions? Thanks,"

So still coughing or was that corrected with the carb cleaning?

If that was corrected but now you just get the extra smoke etc you may have simply adjusted the carb a little too rich..

The coughing was corrected with the cleaning. I have adjusted it both ways and the oil keeps coming. By the way thanks for the diagrams, made a world of difference.

The coughing was corrected with the cleaning. I have adjusted it both ways and the oil keeps coming. By the way thanks for the diagrams, made a world of difference.

"You can easily get an oil sli

"You can easily get an oil slick in a barrel!

Try a re- adjust on the carb and see if you can lean it out just a tad , just make sure it idles smooth ,and you want a little smoke !
Its better to be just a tad rich than lean .."
