'93 8hp idle wire

can anyone tell me what the idle wire connects to on a '93 8hp 2 stroke merc? I know it should connect under the flywheel but i can't find where!

It hooks onto the the trigger.

Look for the little (finger) that it hooks onto - see the pic below - that is sticking out from under the flywheel.

That wire advances/retards the timing by moving the trigger on it's plate.
