"Newbie with my first OB.Bought it 2 yrs ago, ran fine until at WOT it bogged down and would not restart. Next morning I nursed it home and nothing until I dropped the VRO and installed std. pump. Previous owner had disconnected VRO. Now it starts but won't idle. Runs a few secs and quits. Suggestions Please. Jets? Rebuild?

Sounds like - No fuel.. A Carb problem is what I would least expect from what you describe.

Fuel delivery can mess up in so many places. Double check everything before going into the carb. Start at the fuel tank and work your way to to the carb.

"Yo piper,
replaced hoses(all),fuel filter and pump. Unplugged line at carb manifold, turned key, and got bad looking stuff. 3 layers milky green, white and brown. Installed new tank and gas. Now fuel flows easily at carb connection when loosened(?) but will not run when starts. Additionally, manual choking works best. Starts immediately and then burns all fuel. I think carb re-build is needed. Anything else I should look at first?
