92 Johnson 90 grey tach wire location on engine

Does the grey wire hook up to the stator wires

The grey wire can be found in the control box.----And there may be a provision to plug in the tachometer on the box.

Ok sorry on the above post.
I’m Stewart, new guy.
I own a1992 nitro 17.5 ft with a 92 90hp 2 smoke. Trying to locate the grey tach wire on the engine. I’m reading where it’s where the two stator wires come out of block.

My tach has the grey wire is unattached.
I was going to run a wire between the tach and engine to see if I can get the tack to work.

Perhaps find it on the terminal board on the engine.
