"A little confused, I have a 92 Johnson 60hp, that I used everyday until 2 months ago. It was running great a couple of months ago. Today, I pull it out to start and clean it up. It would stumble and die. So I drained the carbs, same thing. Pulled carbs, just to check, #1 carb jet was plugged a little. Cleaned and put back on, now same condition. It did run for a little bit, but when you try to advance the throttle and it dies. It also want even fire if the throttle and timing is advanced further then idle. Tried separate fuel tank, fuel had stabilizer in it. Any ideas???? Thanks for your help guys."

clean/rebuild ALL carbs,using new parts
make sure,all tubes,holes etc are clean.use fresh gas and oil.
do a thorough tune up"

"JW-thanks, I got it running, the compression is 145, 148, 145. But it still runs rough. While it was running, I pulled the spark plug boot on the bottom cylinder, engine shut down and same thing on the middle. The top cylinder will stay running. I am thinking that my power pack might be going, is there away to test this? It is the original one from 1992."

"yes,there are numerous tests....u will need a factory service manual to do it right.rig u up a spark tester,and ck all spark w/plugs removed."
