I had to replace the ignition

I had to replace the ignition switch. I also replaced the battery. The motor starts to turn over fine but will not start. After a few minutes of cranking the battery gets warm and the motor slows down turning over. What could cause this?

Did you have this problem before replacing the ignition switch?

Does the fuel line bulb need to be pumped?

Do you hear a click when you press in on the key (engaging the choke)?

How about the safety lanyard (kill switch)?
