92 evinrude 50hp vro not starting, please help!!!!!

hi, i need some help please!!!! the motor was starting until a week ago but never did idle, and i ran it like that. it ran good on full throttle, but as soon as i put it on idle speed it cuts off. i had to change the ignition switch last week, it was broke. now i try to crank it 7/8 times, it starts on full throttle but after about a minute or two it dies. try it again few times turns on and dies 2/3 minutes later. i have got new gas tank and gas. even though it has a vro pump it is not plugged in for some reason. i have to mix gas and oil in the tank. the reason i got a new gas tank yesterday is when i washed the boat i noticed the aluminum tank has leaks in it and the vapor vent was broke on the side, i think water went in the tank. will some one please help me figure it out. will it be the carburator clogged up?

you might want to check for water in the fuel. if the motor speeds up when you push in the choke you need to pull carbs. a blown head gasket wont always show on a compression test. pull spark plugs rotate flywhell to top of cylender use a pry bar place between flywheel ring gear and lifting ring this is to prevent flywheel from turning using a rubber tiped air blower to pressurize cylender listen very carfully if you here air excaping you have a blown head gasket. the simple test works ive had many customers bring there boats in after several trips to there mechnic with no sucess only to find with this simple test a blown head gasket was the problem allalong.

Im not sure if you got my message about the timming hub, however you can call me at 850-570-9393,there are several updates on your motor to help make it reliable,fyi 35 years experence know your engine well. need to know
 
i cleaned the carbs. one had little water, and the bottom carb fuel hose was cracked. replaced the hose, cleaned the carbs, it still does almost the same. when it is running after 3/4 tries it runs really good for a little while, then it cuts off like its not getting any gas. then i can clear the electric choke, pump the bulb more and try 4/5 times to start it, it starts again run for a little while, and stalls again. is there any way i can clean the VRO pump or rebuild it? u think the pump could be clogged or something elsei have 2 filters on the line one after the bulb and the other is in the motor housing b4 the pump. will some one please help ?
 
Start with the basics and report your findings , then you will get answers.------------What is the compression test results.---------Will spark jump a gap of 7/16" on both.---------The VRO pump is easy to dismantle and repair.--You really only need one filter -------What happens if someone operates the manual fuel pump.
