i have no compression on 4 cyl

i have no compression on 4 cyls so i pulled the covers off and i have 4 collapsed pistons. i am wondering what the cheapest way to go would be should i find another motor and just scrap mine or take it appart and get it bored out and get new pistons and rings?

"92 is pretty old. With the economy in the dumper, you should be able to make a great deal on a new motor.

To flatten all 4 pistons, you would have had to have an oil failure ,total coolant failure, ignition and or bad gas and maybe a few re-starts. So point is-- there is more to this than $500. worth of pistons. Or you will just burn up the next one"

"In my experience of over thirty some years, I have never encountered a failure such as described here. I'd suspect that it has been run lean, without oil, something of that nature, many times.

Only way to arrive at a rebuild figure is to tear the engine down copmpletely.... bad part separated from good parts, figure cost of parts. Add in a new VRO, plugs, carburetor kits, water pump, etc."
