so I had my motor running first time this year and it began to overheat. I shut it off and got a tow in. thermostats were melted and had to be replaced. the culprit was the copper pipe from the impeller wasn't fully seated in the boot. so it wasn't taking in all the water it needed. ran great the next time out. after that coulndt get out of port. went to check it out last week. fly wheel wont turn by hand. I'm worried that I had a gasket leak at the power head and let salt water into the pistons. is this salvageable? ive put quite a bit of money into this motor this winter and would rather rebuild the head then look for another motor which will also need tlc. I guess my question would be. if in fact I have saltwater in the head would I need just a rebuild kit or more then that? a rebuilt head is $2500 ive already exhausted most of my fun money in this rebuild.
