Hey all

I have a new to me 1991 evinrude 60 vro2 on a nitro tracker

Everything was good till this weekend as soon as i start her up i get a warning alarm beeps every half second for about 30 seconds

I noticed a bit of smoke at idle and she sputtered and shut off , had it at wot and it seemed fine

I have been monitoring the oil level in the tank since i dewinterized her and it has been getting lower but have only had it out three times

Thanks for any insight

A warning beep every other second indicates no oil at the VRO.

If all is well after 30 seconds, that would indicate air in the line... or the first sign of a failing VRO.

Remove the oil hose from the fitting at the engine, pump a bit of oil out into a container to rid the line of air, reconnect the hose, then to prime the VRO, apply pressure to the oil primer bulb ONE TIME and one time only! If that doesn't correct the problem, I would suspect the VRO is failing.

I took off the oil hose where it meets the outside of the motor , there was about 2 pumps worth of gasoline in the hose then oil started coming out
Bad seal?

Thanks
